1. Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie, born on July 2, 1990, is an Australian actress and film producer. She was born in Dalby, Queensland, which is located near the Burdekin region. Robbie rose to fame with her role in the soap opera "Neighbours" before making her mark in numerous successful Hollywood films such as "The Wolf of Wall Street" (2013), "Suicide Squad" (2016), and "I, Tonya" (2017).

2. Peter Beattie

Peter Beattie, born on November 18, 1952, is an Australian politician and former premier of Queensland. While not directly from Burdekin, Beattie was associated with the region as the Member of Parliament for the nearby electorate of Townsville (which encompasses Burdekin) from 1989 to 2012. He served as the Premier of Queensland from 1998 to 2007, leading the state through various significant reforms and initiatives.

3. Casey Conway

Casey Conway, born on June 11, 1984, is a former professional rugby player, model, and LGBTQ+ advocate. Although Conway was not specifically born in Burdekin, he grew up in Ayr, a town located within the region. Conway represented the Burdekin district in rugby league before playing for the North Queensland Cowboys in the National Rugby League (NRL).

4. Arthur Beetson

Arthur Beetson (1945-2011), born in Roma, Queensland, was an accomplished rugby league footballer and coach. While not directly associated with Burdekin, Beetson's contributions to the sport are notable within the wider region. He played for several NRL teams and represented both Queensland and Australia throughout his career. Beetson was the first Indigenous Australian to captain the Australian national team.

5. Kristina Keneally

Kristina Keneally, born on December 19, 1968, is an Australian politician and former Premier of New South Wales. Although not born in Burdekin, Keneally was associated with the region as she served as the Labor Member of Parliament for Heffron, which is located in Sydney but encompasses the Burdekin region. She held the position of New South Wales Premier from 2009 to 2011.
